The American College of Marbella allows students to begin their first two years of university, transfer to the US and complete their degree from an accredited university in the United States.
The American College of Marbella (ACM) will be establishing itself in Andalucia and will be opening its door to students, Spanish as well as foreign, with the main goal of bringing a qualityand affordable education that enables students to immerse themselves in a US style higher educational system. Students will have the opportunity of beginning their education in Marbella and then transfer to the US and obtain a US degree from an accredited university.
The presentation of The American College of Marbella took place in Manolo Santana Racquets Club, and was attended by the Marbella Mayoress, Ángeles Muñoz, the delegate of education, Carmen Diaz, as well as ACM’s’ campus director, Melissa Campo and the Director of Institutional Development, Adrian Butler. Melissa Campo explained that the main objective of ACM is “to provide students with the intelectual and social foundations necessary to prepare them to lead fulfilling lives as competent and compassioante members of a global society. For this reason we offer well equipped facilities and reduced sized classrooms”.
The American College of Marbella is an affiliate campus of The American College of Dubai, a university fully recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education in the United Arab Emirates and authorized to offer four year US accredited degrees.The American College of Marbella will be offering the first two years of an American Bachelors degree, which will enable students to complete in Marbella the basic coursework required by all universities abroad and then transfer to a US university of their choice from which they will earn a US degree. It will begin its academic year in September 2013.
American institutions put great emphasis on sports and recreation, for this reason ACM has established an agreement with Manolo Santana Racquets Club, where our students will be able to use their facilities which include: gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis, paddle, and martial arts. During the winter season, ACM will be organizing trips to Sierra Nevada (Granada), where students can practice snow skiing, snowboard and cross country skiing. Furthermore, cultural excursions will also take place so that students can familiarize themselves with the Spanish and Andalusian culture.
What we offer at The American College en Marbella
The American Education System allows students to begin their university career without having to immediately decide their major. During the first two years students are required to complete what is known as General Education Requirements. Once these are completed, students from ACM will be able to transfer to any university in the USA or Canada where they will be able to obtain a US degree from an accredited university.
The US university system has the advantage of offering numerous degrees in different fields. The following is an example of some of the degrees pursued by many of our students:

ACADEMIC ENGLISH PROGRAM
The objective of the Academic English Program is to equip students with the English language skills necessary for successful college or university level studies.
The Academic English Program is designed for students —-from beginning to advanced—- who desire significant improvement in their English capacity in order to attend regular college or professional courses. Students following the required curriculum which includes a progressive number of distinct levels of skill capacity are forced to focus on grammar, conversation, and writing organized around 20 hours per week of intensive classroom preparation. The Program is composed of various topics such as the basic skill sets, career –related vocabulary, and work topics.
ACM prepares students for the TOEFL examination, which is a required test by all universities for non native speakers. In addition, students can also prepare for the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) which is an entry level examination requisite by some universities.
For students who have not been able to complete their secondary education and wish to pursue a degree in higher education, ACM offers a secondary school certificate preparation course in order to help students attain a High School Diploma.
The US university system and its degrees are recognized and highly regarded worldwide.
