Chindia at the Gibraltar World Music Festival

Chindia, a blend of Asian and Oriental music with a soupçon of Western seasoning, was a roaring success, packing the caves with a multi cultural audience.

The famous composer and producer Nitin Sawhney headlined the night with guest performances from the excellent vocal talents of Nicki Wells and percussion skills of tabla maestro Aref Durvesh.Chindia at the Gibraltar World Music Festival

Guo Gan and Mieko Miyazaki opened the concert with their ancient Oriental set. Hailing from China and Japan and now residing in Paris, Guo and Mieko took us back to the days of the Samurai and Emperors.

And last but not least, sandwiched between these great acts were Itamar Doari and Tomer Moked from Israel who were musicaly bananas and probably my favorite part of the concert.

The Festival’s program of World Music, art and culture was shared thanks to the patronage of the Chief Minister and the support of the Government of Gibraltar, The Bonita Trust, SG Hambros, Hyperion Group of Companies, Margaux Philanthropy, BIH, Hassans, Deloitte, Matanel, Famous for Media and Instituto Cervantes in Gibraltar.
