Marbella Restaurant Ikini Banus Opens in Puerto Banus
Feverish excitement spread across Marbella in the run up to the launch of Ikni Banus for those gourmet lovers across the coast, eagerly waiting for the opening of the latest international gourmet establishment, that has promised to mirror the image and concept of one of the best restaurants in the world, namely ‘Noma’ Denmark (voted number one restaurant in the world three years in a row). Their ultimate objective, in the near future, is to be awarded with a Michelin Star.
The hundreds of guests were certainly not disappointed on the night. Chef and business partner Diego Figueredo, formerly of La Sala, treated the many guests to a mouth-watering menu appetizers
including crispy asparagus with pistachio Hollandaise, two texture calamari with wakame seaweed and wasabi mayonnaise, champagne and Vietnamese curry mussels with sweet ginger and lemon
grass, burrata and raft tomatoes salad with smoked herb salt, octopus with potato museline, and an international cheese board.
These were complimented with fine wines from leading Malaga distributor ‘Vina Sur’ and ‘Pommery Champagne’ which flowed throughout the night.
Finnish owner Sinikka, hosted the evening. Her family’s restaurant experience spanning across countries such as Sweden, France and Northern Africa, creating an easy and natural move to expand into Spain.
As the glorious evening came to a close, the ebullient crowd raised many a glass to toast the inauguration of IKNI BANUS.
