Ocean Clinic, under the command of Dr. Kai O. Kaye, celebrated their 5th anniversary at the Da Vinci Hotel in Elviria, Marbella this week, and used the event to raise money for his October charity trip to the home of Paddington Bear, Darkest Peru.
Dr Kai and his medical team will travel to Peru this October to the Kausay Wasi Clinic in Southern Peru.
The Kausay Wasi Clinic provides health services since 2005 and to date has served more than 124,000 patients, mostly in extreme poverty. During the first 2 weeks of October 2013, Ocean Clinic is organizing a Plastic Surgery and Dental Health Campaign at the Kausay Wasi Clinic.
A team of 2 Plastic Surgeons, 2 Dentists, 2 Nurses and an Anesthetist will dedicate their holidays to help patients suffering from malformations, tumors, burn scars and dental problems.
It was with this in mind that Dr Kai held a raffle at his anniversary event to raise money for expenses that would be incurred on the trip by his team, who are funding their flights themselves. Many prizes were donated by some of the finer businesses in Marbella and I even managed to win two pairs of D&C swimming shorts, although it was many years ago that they would have fitted me, they did my son just fine.
Well hats off to the Ocean Clinic and their team for 5 successful years and here’s to 5 more. Marbella-Eye will give a full report on their trip to Peru and will be sending some marmalade along should they bump into Paddington’s relatives.
