8O’s soul legend, Paul Young, laid his hat in the studios of Talk Radio Europe this morning and chatted live to Bill Padley about his music and his new found fame as a chef.
I first heard the dulcet tones of Luton born soul man Paul Young when he was with the late 70’s group Streetband singing about Toast, well it would appear Paul still can’t stop talking food, but now has upped his game past a slice of everybody’s breakfast favorite.
Paella, indeed it’s a brave man who comes over to Spain from Blighty to show his skills cooking the national dish of our adopted country, but this is exactly what you will find Señor Young doing at The Sunset Restaurant, California Beach Resort in Club la Costa just up the road from Marbella, don’t forget the rabbit Paul.
Clutching a copy of his new cookbook, Recipes I Found on My Travels, Paul explained how he had picked up the recipes from many years of touring as a solo artiste, and is now an avid fan of the culinary arts and when asked by fellow musician and TRE presenter Bill Padley what dish he would like to cook and eat should it be the last meal ever, he replied Chicken Molle, that most famous of Mexican dishes.
Well hopefully all will go well with the Paella session this evening and who knows one day Paul may “come back and stay”
