Stephen Lloyd-Morgan´s hit show ´Music of the Night´ once again drew in the crowds to the Spectacular ´Music of the Night´Mijas Auditorium last Thursday, with a near capacity 850 audience.
The popular Welsh tenor, who both produces and stars in the show, brought together the casts of his 3 other previously sold-out shows, ´West End Musicals in Concert´, ´The Best of Broadway´ and ´Encore! The 3 Tenors´, into this one spectacular show at this stunning and extremely atmospheric venue.
The evening was filled with showstoppers from the musicals Cats, Oliver, Rent, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story and Miss Saigon to name just a few, with a larger section dedicated to Les Miserables. Encore! The 3 Tenors with soprano Julie-Anne Hunter performing the classical segment with songs including Granada, With a Song in My Heart, Brindisi, O Sole Mio, Marechiare, Torna A Surriento and Nessun Dorma.
Among the many other highlights of the show by the amazing voices of this outstanding cast were ´As Long as He Needs Me´ sung by the Adele Lee Peters; ´Summertime´ by Julie-Anne Hunter; ´Take Me or Leave Me´ by Lucy Indrisie; ´Music of the Night´ by Raúl D’Abreu; ´Bring Him Home´ by José Santos; as well as Stephen Lloyd-Morgan´s performances of ´Gethsemane´, ´No Day But Today´ and ´Man of La Mancha´.
After some superb duets and ensemble numbers, including ´Last Night of the World´, ´Hallelujah´, ´What I Did for Love´ and ´Seasons of Love´, the whole show culminated in several standing ovations and then a fantastic surprise up-tempo grand finale, which saw the cast joined by 12 students of the Aula Stage and Music School, with ´Mama-Mia´, ´The Hand Jive´, ´Any Dream Will Do´, ´We Go Together´ and ´Gimme, Gimme, Gimme´.
