Fortunately for me, John Ellis sent me a few cases of this wine however there is no stock left at the winery and so this wine is not available for public release.
However, if you knock on my door, I’ll gladly open you a bottle up.
There will be follow-up vintages and I highly recommend buying a few cases. This is the newest wine to be added to John’s Bellvale portfolio. Planted in 2008 it’s a wine in the northern Italian, rather than French grape style, not often grown in South Gippsland, but John felt it was perfectly suited to his cool climate location and it’s five acre vineyard that sits atop a hill looking towards Wilson’s Prom. John was after a wine with more substance than many he had tried, chasing the elusive character, stone fruit, pear and subtlety. This one now shows an aroma and fruit expression and ultimately a freshness that makes it unique to the region.
